UAE not aiming high

UAE aren’t aiming high in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III in Sri Lanka, which starts later this week.
The squad, led by coach Jorge Munoz along with Omar Behroozian (picture), Hamad Abbas Al Janahi, Khalid Al Hassaini and Faisal Bastaki will be more than happy if they can avoid relegation.
"This is going to be a huge challenge for us, but I think we are mentally ready to take on the best and prove we are good enough to remain in Group III," Behroozian told Gulf News recently.
"The training camp in France has been helpful and that helped us get adjusted to clay so that we can be among the genuine contenders in Sri Lanka.”
Behroozian and Al Janahi spent three weeks in Nice last month.
Technically, UAE will be required to win at least two of their encounters in order to stay in Group III for another season, and with teams like Myanmar and Oman — whom they have beaten in the past — they stand a better chance of retaining their place.
