Malaysia, second seeds

MALAYSIA are the second seeds in the upcoming Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group III in Sri Lanka.
LTAM executive secretary Ibrahim Abu Bakar hopes the seeding will give the team a good draw in the group stages.
“We were seeded because one (Ariez Elyaas) of our players earned ATP rankings points in a recent tournament in Thailand,” said Ibrahim, a former radio announcer recently.
“Our team have been preparing hard for the Davis Cup. Except for Yew Ming, the others are below 21-years-old.
“I hope the local tennis fraternity will support our young team.”
Davis Cup captain Deen Heshaam Tan Abdullah together with his son, Ariez, Si Yew Ming, Ahmad Deedat Razak and Nazim Khan are in Sri Lanka for the event, which will be played on clay.
The tournament, scheduled from June 15-19, will be played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association in Colombo.
