FORMER national champion Syed Agil Syed Naguib reached the men’s singles final of the BMW National Circuit fourth leg in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Syed Agil, the fifth seed, upset top seed Ariez Elyaas Deen Heshaam 6-3, 7-5 in the semi-finals.
He plays unseeded Thai Pruchya Isarov, who defeated second seed Si Yew Ming 6-4, 6-2 yesterday, for the title today.
In women’s singles semi-finals, Uzbekistan’s top seed Polina Merenkova struggled past seventh seed R. Archanaah 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 while second seed S. Theiviya thrashed fifth seed Ti Jia Wei 6-3, 6-0.
