THE national junior Davis Cup team failed to make an impact at the Asia/Oceania Qualifying Round event in New Delhi, India yesterday.
The team, led by Ahmad Deedat Abd Razak and together with Colin Wong (pic)
and Duzbionjit Singh, were beaten by Thailand (2-1), Uzbekistan (3-0) and minnows Syria (2-1) to finish last in Group C.
Malaysia's points against Thailand and Syria were earned in the doubles.
The team need to do better in today's relegation playoff to avoid demotion to the pre-qualifiers next year.
